The 176th meeting of the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council is held

Pristina, 14 January 2020 - Strengthening the legal framework and integrity, systematic transparency and accountability, upgrading the prosecutors' performance appraisal system were some of the key pillars contained in the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council (KPC) Work Plan for 2020, adopted today at its 176th meeting.

Also, the Council led by its Chairman, Bahri Hyseni, has adopted the Regulation on training and professional development in the prosecutorial system, which sets standards and guidelines for the training of prosecutors and other staff, as well as overseeing the professional development of prosecutors and administrative staff in the prosecutorial system.

Consequently, during the meeting, the recommendations of the Commission Report on the transfer and promotion of three state prosecutors were adopted, thereby advancing a prosecutor in the Basic Prosecution Office in Peja from the General Department to the Serious Crimes Department, who will simultaneously be transferred to one year in the Basic Prosecution Office in Gjakova, while one Prosecutor in the Basic Prosecution in Prizren was promoted from the General Department to the Department for Juveniles. In this context, after the internal announcement for the promotion of a position in the Basic Prosecution in Mitrovica, it was found that the required criteria were not fulfilled and it was decided to re-announce the internal competition.

On the other hand, in the context of improving the knowledge and mentoring skills to deal with the target cases of the State Prosecutor, the KPC has given its consent to the selected group of prosecutors to follow the mentoring program in four modules in March, June, September and November 2020 in London, with expenditure to be covered by the United Kingdom Government.
