NEXT MEETING OF KOSOVO PROSECUTORIAL COUNCIL IS HELD
Prishtina, 21st of January, 2015 – There is held the eighty-fifth meeting of Kosovo Prosecutorial Council, chaired by Acting Chief State Prosecutor, simultaneously Head of the Council, Sylë Hoxha.
During this meeting was presented the final list of candidates who have met the general and special criteria, as defined by articles 3 and 4 of the Regulation on the Criteria and Procedures for Selection and Proposal for Appointment of Chief State Prosecutor. In this list are: Chief Prosecutor of the Basic Prosecution in Peja, Agron Galani, Chief Prosecutor of the Basic Prosecution in Mitrovica Shyqyri Syla, Chief Prosecutor of Appellate Prosecution Aleksandër Lumezi, State Prosecutor Laura Pula, Chief Prosecutor of the Basic Prosecution in Prishtina Imer Beka and Acting Chief Prosecutor of the Basic Prosecution in Prizren, Metush Biraj.
During this meeting there were also discussions about the request for extending the mandate of Kosovo Law Institute between Kosovo Prosecutorial Council. Members of the Council have decided to first review the Memorandum of Understanding between KLI and KPC, then to extent the mandate of the respective Institution.
Members of the Council have also today established the Committee for bringing the decision regarding the date when the Prosecutors` Conference will be held.
Among others, Prosecutorial Council has also approved the Action Plan on the Progress Report.
There is worth of mentioning that Prosecutorial Council has established the Working Group in charge of drafting the Standards for the conflict of interest in KPC.
During this meeting Prosecutorial Council has also reviewed the request of Administration employees of Appellate Prosecution, Special Prosecution of the Republic of Kosovo and Basic Prosecution in Prishtina, for covering the travel expenses following their transfer in Palace of Justice.
