THERE WAS HELD THE NEXT MEETING OF KOSOVO PROSECUTORIAL COUNCIL

Prishtina, 22nd of April 2016 – There was held the one-hundred-fifteenth meeting of Kosovo Prosecutorial Council (KPC), chaired by the Chairman of Prosecutorial Council, Blerim Isufaj.

In this meeting, Kosovo Prosecutorial Council members have approved the Inter-Institutional Tracking Mechanism Report regarding characteristic criminal offenses for 2015.

Today, KPC Chairman, Blerim Isufaj, was authorized by the Council on signing Memorandum of Understanding bound between Prosecutorial Council, Judicial Council, Chamber of Advocates and Kosovo Police, regarding establishment of the coordination mechanism on judicial defence in criminal cases at public expenditures, an agreement that will be supported by OSCE.

Today, the Council has also approved Regulation no. 04/2016 on Inter-Institutional Cooperation, regulation that sets obligation of State Prosecutor on informing public institution when against their employees the criminal procedure was initiated.

In the one-hundred-fifteenth meeting KPC has taken the decision on announcing internal vacancy for the position of the Chief Prosecutor of the Appellate Prosecution and Chief Prosecutor of the Special Prosecution of the Republic of Kosova, since the respective are being managed by Acting Chief Prosecutors.

As per Regulation no. 03/2016 on the Transfer and Promotion of State Prosecutors, KPC members today have decided on announcing internal vacancy for Prosecutors interested on transfer and promotion.

KPC members today have also established the Committee in charge of Transferring and Promoting State Prosecutors. The respective Committee shall have the following composition: Chief State Prosecutor, Aleksandër Lumezi in the capacity of the Chairman, Prosecutor Haxhi Sinanaj, KPC member, in the capacity of the member of the Committee and Prosecutor Xhevdet Bislimi from Appellate Prosecution, in the capacity of the member of the Committee as well.

Whereas, in the capacity of the reserve members are assigned: Deputy Chief State Prosecutor Sevdije Morina, who shall serve as Deputy Chairperson, Dëshirë Jusaj, KPC member, in the capacity of the member of the Committee and Prosecutor Enver Sokoli, member from Appellate Prosecution; whereas in the capacity of the Secretary of the Committee was assigned Legal Officer, Shqipe Hykolli.

In this meeting, Council has reviewed the request of Mr. Sylejman Sopa on harmonization of the salary grade, and the Council has authorized the Secretariat to harmonize the grade of the salary based on the Regulations and Laws in force.

Today, KPC members has completed the Committee in charge of interviewing candidates for Prosecutors for the purposes of non-majority communities integration, where instead of the former-Prosecutor, Jusuf Mejzini, now retired, member of the Committee was assigned Deputy Chief State Prosecutor, Sevdije Morina.
