A DELEGATION FROM PROSECUTORIAL SYSTEM AND JUDICIAL SYSTEM OF KOSOVA IS STAYING FOR AN OFFICIAL VISIT IN THE REPUBLIC OF TURKEY
Ankara/Turkey, 4th of May 2016 – Upon the invitation by the Academy of Justice of the Republic of Turkey, a delegation from the prosecutorial system and judicial system of the Republic of Kosova, chaired by the Chairman of Kosovo Prosecutorial Council, Blerim Isufaj and composed of representatives from Kosovo Prosecutorial Council, Presidents Judges of Kosova Courts and representatives from Kosovo Judicial Institute, are staying for an official visit in the Justice Institutions of the Republic of Turkey.
During their staying in Ankara, delegation from Kosova was hosted in separate meetings from the highest Heads of Turkish Justice Institutions, starting from the Prosecution next to the Supreme Court of the Republic of Turkey, Supreme Court, Ministry of Justice, Konya Prosecution, Prosecution of Beypazar and Turkish Justice Academy.
During those meetings, delegation from our country was closely briefed on organization and functioning of the prosecutorial and judicial system of the Republic of Turkey.
In those meetings, Chairman Isufaj has informed interlocutors regarding the structure of the prosecutorial system of Kosova, work, problems, challenges and aims of the prosecutorial system, namely the ones of the institution of State Prosecutor and Kosovo Prosecutorial Council, as well as reforms implementation in this system. In those meetings the discussions with special emphasize were regarding the fight against organized crime, transnational crime and fight against terrorism.
There were also discussions regarding forms of intensifying cooperation between Justice Institutions of both countries, and they have concretely agreed to exchange experiences for the purposes of professional capacities building of Prosecutors, Judges and supporting staff of prosecutorial and judicial system of the Republic of Kosova.
In those meetings, Chairman Isufaj has greeted Heads of Turkish Justice Institutions for the continuous support their country is giving to the prosecutorial system of our country through organizing mutual visits and exchanging best judicial and prosecutorial practices in different areas for Kosova Prosecutors and Judges.
