EXPLANATORY NOTE REGARDING MEDIA REACTION FOLLOWING THE APPROVAL OF THE REGULATION ON COMMUNICATION WITH THE PUBLIC FOR THE KOSOVO PROSECUTORIAL SYSTEM
Prishtina, 30th of May 2016 – Kosovo Prosecutorial Council through this Explanatory Note informs the public that the purpose behind the Regulation on Communication with the Public approved by the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council is setting communication ways of prosecutorial system with the public in general, and not only with a certain group.
The drafting procedure of the Regulation on Communication with the Public for prosecutorial system was based on the legal grounds for drafting and approval of a Regulation.
Committee for Normative Acts of Kosovo Prosecutorial Council has drafted the named Regulation. Constitutive part of the drafting process of this Regulation were structures of prosecutorial system in charge for communication and, international donators and partners that support work of prosecutorial system.
In order to be able to provide the opportunity for inclusion, the aforementioned Committee on 19.05.2016 via e-mail has submitted the draft of the respective Regulation to the President of Association of Journalists of Kosovo (Association that represents community of Kosovo Journalists), respectively to Mr. Zekria Shabani and there was requested to submit eventual comments of the Association regarding the Regulation until 23.05.2016.
Despite this, the Committee until 23.05.2016, did not receive any respond or comment from Association of Journalists of Kosovo.
Since the Committee did not receive any comment from the Association of Journalists of Kosova, it has submitted to Kosovo Prosecutorial Council the draft-Regulation on Communication with Public for prosecutorial system, for an eventual approval.
As per the agenda and procedures of Kosovo Prosecutorial Council, the Regulation on Communication with the Public was proceeded in the one-hundred-sixteenth meeting of KPC, which was held on 27.05.2016, when the aforementioned Regulation was respectively approved.
