Access and facilitation of the implementation of public communication, topic of discussion between KPC and AJK
Pristina, 20 May 2019 - The chairman of the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council, Bahri Hyseni, hosted in the meeting the representatives of the Association of Journalists of Kosovo, led by the Chairwoman Gentiana Begolli.
The purpose of the meeting was to provide mutual information, clarification and presentation of opportunities for strengthening the role, mission and cooperation of the Prosecutorial Council and Association of Journalists of Kosovo, as well as monitoring and giving recommendations for best functionalization and implementation of the Regulation on the Public Communication Service in the Kosovo Prosecutorial System, which has been recently approved by the KPC.
In this context, KPC Chairman, Bahri Hyseni, has informed in detail the representatives of AJK on the efforts being made in terms of creating the conditions for an adequate public communication. According to him, cooperation is the only way to overcome the common difficulties and challenges we face, and to achieve the institutional objectives for the citizen's right to information and to promote transparency and public communication.
On the other hand, the Chairwoman of the Association of Journalists of Kosovo, Gentiana Begolli, emphasized that AJK closely follows and analyzes mutual issues, in which case for the subordinate regulation of the field of public communication in the prosecutorial system will be found professional form to provide observations and input regarding the approach and aspects that facilitate the implementation of this important regulation.
Also, KPC Chairman, Bahri Hyseni, has proposed that AJK and the media to monitor the implementation of this regulation, and after a month we can hold an open meeting for media in the presence of AJK representatives to once again expressed the transparency and, of course, outright recommendations could be made from this event, which we will then integrate in the field of public communication in the future.
With this concrete proposal of the KPC chairman were agreed the AGK representatives who will notify their representatives and will participate after a month in the meeting, which will come with concrete professional recommendations to help the practical implementation of efficiency, accountability and public transparency in the prosecutorial system of Kosovo.
