The implementation progress of the Project for Case Management for Courts and Prosecution offices is assessed (SMIL)

Pristina, May 29 2019- The chairman of the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council (KPC), Mr. Bahri Hyseni and the Chairman of the Kosovo Judicial Council (KJC), Mr. Skender Çoçaj, hosted in a joint meeting the General Director for European Affairs at the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Niels Engelchion and the Norwegian Ambassador in Kosovo, Mr. Per Strand Sjaastad.

The purpose of the meeting was the presentation of achievements after a successful completion of the main phase of the Project for Case Management for Courts and Prosecution offices (SMIL) and the beginning of the consolidated phase.  

On this occasion both heads of the justice system thanked two Norwegian senior officials for the support and generous funding of the Project for Case Management for Courts and Prosecution offices (SMIL).

The chairman of the KPC, Mr. Bahri Hyseni, emphasized that the project TIK-SMIL is special for the prosecutorial system, because the digitalization of the work is a great achievement.

Also in this meeting were presented the first positive effects of the use of SMIL in the improvement of the efficiency, accountability, rising transparency and capacities, and raising the accuracy of information in the courts and prosecution offices of Kosovo.

On the other hand, the representatives of the Norway assessed the work and achievements of the both Councils and expressed their readiness to continue supporting this project as a project of special importance for all the judicial system in our country.

Taking into consideration the responsibility of the implementation of this project, both Councils pledged in front of the donor to fulfill all the obligations of the consolidated phase, in order to realize the project successfully, as well as agreed to continue the deepening of mutual cooperation.
