The 168th KPC meeting is held

Pristina, 7 June 2019- Kosovo Prosecutorial Council, leaded by its chairman Bahri Hyseni, held the 168th meeting, in which case it has decided on a number of items on the agenda.

Since the beginning of the meeting, the chairman of the Committee for Normative Issues, Zejnullah Gashi, presented the Regulation on disciplinary responsibility of prosecutors, which was drafted after the entry into force of the Law on the Responsibilities of Judges and Prosecutors, with great contributions from American experts who have supported its drafting actively, this regulation will affect directly on the strengthening the efficiency, effectiveness, transparency, accountability, commitment and on the incensement of the public confidence. Also, The Council made a decision to accommodate the staff of the Office of the Disciplinary Counsel in the KPC Secretariat.

The Council also approved the First Budget Request 2020-2022, presented by the Chairwoman of the Budget, Finance and Personnel Committee, Deshirë Jusaj and the General Director of the Council’s Secretariat, Lavdim Krasniqi.

Meanwhile, the Chairwoman of the Working Group on monitoring the Strategic Plan of the Prosecutorial System 2019-2021, Prosecutor Radica Milic, reported on monitoring the practical implementation of this plan, which said that its implementation is going according to planning, and monitoring will be continuous.

The next decision of the KPC concerned sending a proposal to the President of Kosovo for the release from the duty of prosecutors, Imer Beka and Feti Tunuzliu, as their retirement age will reach June 15 this year.

Consequently, the Council decided that until the election of the new Chief Prosecutor of the Basic Prosecution of Pristina, the prosecutor Kujtim Munishi should be appointed Acting Chief Prosecutor of this Prosecution. Prosecutor Munishi is currently the chief of the Serious Crimes Department at the Pristina Basic Prosecution.

The Council approved two reports - the Report of the Committee on Transfer and Advancement of State Prosecutors in Pristina and Ferizaj, respectively, the thirteenth (13) Report of the Committee for Performance Evaluation of the state prosecutors, and decided to re-open the vacancy announcement for a prosecutor in the Juvenile Department of the Basic Prosecution of Gjakova.
