KPC organizes a seminar for prosecutors and public communication officers in the prosecutorial system
Pristina, June 19, 2019 - The Kosovo Prosecutorial Council (KPC) in cooperation with the German Foundation for International Legal Cooperation (IRZ) organized a two-day seminar on public relations, a seminar in which attended prosecutors and public relations officials of Kosovo prosecutorial system.
IRZ experts, Wolf Timan Baumert, Senior Prosecutor and Director of the Directorate for Economic Crime, and Wolfram Lumpe, an independent media expert at WDP-DPA, have dealt with methods of explaining the activities of prosecutions in the media, including the role of social media today.
The purpose of the seminar was the introduction of German standards and knowledge on coordinated actions of prosecutions with local media, professional treatment of certain situations, which challenge the institutional activity in front of the public, as well as the correct meaning of the role and the public communication mission.
Particular attention was also given to the content media information on time, respecting the procedural aspect, especially the presumption of innocence, then investigative procedures, court proceedings and information on completed trials as a result of the good work done with indictment.
In this context, the perception and credibility of prosecutorial institutions, as an experience conveyed by the German State in Kosovo, has been analyzed and debated for several days, presenting practical work, simulating the appearance of spokesmen in front of television cameras, analyzing events, obtaining basic knowledge for sharing source news, planning and publishing the correct and accurate information as well as the practice of clear and transparent speaking to the public.
