Study visit of KPC representatives to Norwegian prosecution offices

Pristina, 26 June 2019 - The Deputy Chairman of the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council (KPC), Arben Ismajli, the Chairperson of the Committee on Normative Issues at KPC, Zejnullah Gashi and the General Director of the Prosecutorial Council Secretariat, Lavdim Krasniqi, are staying in Oslo, Norway in the framework of exchanging experiences of prosecutions and courts, as well as the services provided to them by the respective administrations.

In the meetings held in the Norwegian higher judicial institutions are also attending the Head of the Kosovo Judicial Council (KJC) Skënder Çoçaj, Director of the Academy of Justice, Valon Kurtaj, UNDP Project Manager, Ardian Latifaj and other representative of the Kosovo justice system.

The purpose of the visit is to observe good practices in the field of case management and administration of prosecutions and courts, as well as discussion on issues of prosecutorial service and Norwegian courts in terms of providing guidance, independence and ethics of the prosecutorial and judicial system, selection and appointment of prosecutors, judicial education and adequate training, integrity, accountability and transparency, recruitment, performance appraisal and promotion of prosecutors and judges.

The Kosovo representatives were welcomed by the senior authorities of the Norwegian prosecutorial and judicial system, thanked for the reception and presentation of Norwegian values ​​and standards of justice, which will create a clear picture of improving efficiency, accountability, increasing transparency and overall professional and administrative capacities in prosecution offices and courts of Kosovo.
