The workshop is held to finalize the draft Integrity Plan of the prosecutorial system 2024-2026

The Kosovo Prosecutorial Council (KPC), through the support of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Kosovo, is holding a two-day workshop for the presentation and finalization of the draft of the Plan for the Integrity of the Prosecutorial System 2024-2026, this plan, which derives from the Law on the Agency for the Prevention of Corruption.

The Chairman of the KPC, Ardian Hajdaraj, Deputy Chairperson Jehona Grantolli, Acting Chief State Prosecutor, Besim Kelmendi, members of the Council, prosecutors of the Office of the Chief State Prosecutor, chief prosecutors of the country's prosecutions, Director General of the KPC Secretariat, representatives of the Basel Institute for Governance and UNDP and other officials of the prosecutorial system are participating in this workshop.  

Initially, the Chairman of the Council, at the same time the chairman of the Working Group for the drafting of the Integrity Plan of the prosecutorial system (2024-2026), Ardian Hajdaraj, presented the main parts of the plan, emphasizing the great importance of this internal document, through which will assess the level of integrity within each relevant institution and offer a series of measures for its management in the prosecutorial system.

Also, in today's first session, the Chief State Prosecutor, Besim Kelmendi, spoke about the effective assurance of integrity management, accountability and public transparency and the principles of institutional resistance to integrity violations in the prosecutorial system, emphasizing the commitment added to everyone's ability to overcome potential challenges and difficulties.

The other participants also underlined during their discussions that, today and tomorrow, in the next sessions that will be held in this workshop, through this plan, it is intended to increase the opportunities to achieve the objectives of integrity management in accordance with legal requirements and standards and procedural, in order to achieve the trust of the staff and external stakeholders in the commitment to the development and advancement of integrity, through operational controls and their strengthening in all activities and the scope of the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council and the institution of State Prosecutor.

In tomorrow's sessions, there will be final discussions on the draft as a whole and the comprehensive questionnaire and risk table will be discussed, which will be processed for approval at one of the next meetings of the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council.
