The celebration ceremony of March 8 - Women's Day is held in the prosecution system

The Deputy Chairperson of the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council (KPC), Mrs. Jehona Grantolli, accompanied by the member of the KPC, Mrs. Ariana Shajkovci, the prosecutor in the Special Prosecution, Mrs. Iliriana Çollaku-Tafa, officials from OPDAT at the American Embassy, Mrs. Benina Kusari and Mrs. Eliza Shporta, has organized a ceremony to mark March 8 - Women's Day, which was attended by prosecutors from the country's prosecutor's offices, as well as the professional and administrative staff of the police system.  

On this occasion, the Deputy Chairperson of the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council, Mrs. Jehona Grantolli, thanked all those present as a sign of gratitude and respect for their work and engagement in the prosecutorial system, emphasizing the advancement of the role and responsibilities of women and their further empowerment on the road ahead. “Today's date marks a difficult and long social journey to improve our position and our lives and generally to highlight our values as women contributing to the justice system of the country”, said Mrs. Grantolli. 

Occasional words were also presented by the member of the KPC from the ranks of the Basic Prosecutor's Office in Prizren, Ms. Ariana Shajkovci, the prosecutors of the Special Prosecution of the Republic of Kosovo, Iliriana Çollaku-Tafa and Fikrije Krasniqi-Fejzullahu, as well as the officials from OPDAT at the American Embassy in Pristina, Mrs. Benina Kusari and Mrs. Edita Shporta, which evoked memories and spoke about their experiences, challenges, difficulties and achievements, emphasizing that March 8 should serve not only to unite women in the protection of their rights, but also to convey clear institutional and social messages for their empowerment.

International Women's Day is celebrated on March 8 every year and commemorates the movement for women's rights, while the first observance of Women's Day was held on February 28, 1909 in New York, and March 8 was suggested by the International Conference of Women to be made International Women's Day.
