The workshop is held for the presentation, discussion and finalization of the draft Regulation for the Office for Protection and Assistance to Victims

The Commission for Nominative Issues of the Prosecution Council of Kosovo, led by the prosecutor Armend Zenelaj, supported by the Program of the Department of Justice for Assistance, Training and Development of Prosecutors Abroad (OPDAT), has organized a workshop for the presentation, discussion and finalization of the draft of the Regulation for the Office for Protection and Assistance to Victims.

The Chairman of the KPC, Ardian Hajdaraj, Vice-Chairman Jehona Grantolli, members of the KPC, the General Director of the KPC, officials of the OPAV, OPDAT representatives from the American Embassy and the EUKOJUST project participated in this workshop..

In this workshop, the draft Regulation on the Mandate, Structure, Functioning and Organization of the Office for Protection and Assistance to Victims was discussed, in which case it was said from the beginning that special attention will be paid to the goals, scope, principles and competences of the OPAV, this office, which functions independently in the Office of the Chief State Prosecutor.

Also, the focus of the workshop sessions was the review of the role and organizational structure of the regional offices and the treatment of the operation and organization of the OPAV during the provision of support and representation of victims of violence in the prosecutor's office and courts.

OPAV offers services to victims of crime during legal proceedings and represents their interests in the criminal justice system in the cases provided by law for civil cases as well.
