Detention on remand is requested against a citizen and instructor of a Driving School
Prishtina, February 15, 2024 – The Basic Prosecution Office in Prishtina has requested detention on remand from the Basic Court in Prishtina for two individuals, A.B. and E.M., in separate cases involving alleged criminal offenses. A.B. due to the criminal offense “Giving bribes in the private sector” and against the defendant E.M., due to the criminal offense “Legalization of false content”, according to the KPRK, who were detained by the order of the State Prosecutor on 14.02.2024.
A.B. is accused of "Giving bribes in the private sector" for allegedly offering a bribe to an employee at the Driver's License Issuing Center. He is suspected of offering a reward to a driving school instructor, who was not authorized to provide category C services for a driving license, in exchange for arranging documents for his driving license. A.B. is also accused of attempting to deceive authorities by pretending to take a driving test, which was witnessed and stopped.
E.M. is accused of "Legalization of false content" for allegedly issuing a certificate falsely claiming that a candidate had passed practical training at a driving school in Fushë Kosovë. This action is believed to be an attempt to deceive authorities and certify an untrue matter.
Both defendants were detained by the State Prosecutor on 14.02.2024. The Basic Prosecution Office has filed a motion to impose the measure of detention against them.
