The 242nd Meeting of the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council is held

Prishtinë, 13 February 2024

The Kosovo Prosecutorial Council (KPC), led by the Chairman Ardian Hajdaraj, held the 242nd meeting, in which the items on the agenda were discussed and approved.

All the decisions that were taken in today's meeting are as follows, in which case the KPC:

  • Adopted the Regulation for the Asset Recovery Office, which will enter into force immediately;
  • It took a decision to announce the election of a member of the KPC from the ranks of the Special Prosecution of the Republic of Kosovo and established the Commission for the election of a new member, composed of: Arian Gashi (Appellate Prosecution), chairman, Agron Qalaj (OCSP) - member and Sami Istrefi (SKPC) – member;
  • Elected prosecutor Sebahate Sinani as a substitute member in the Commission for the Evaluation of the Performance of Prosecutors;
  • Appointed prosecutor Arianit Salihu to the position of Head of the General Department in the Basic Prosecutor's Office in Pristina;
  • Approved the proposals of the chief prosecutors of the basic prosecutions in Peja and Gjakova for the appointment of prosecutor Arlinda Nallbani - Gacaferri and prosecutor Kastriot Mema as mentors at the Kosovo Academy of Law;
  • Appointed the representative of the KPC in the working group in the drafting and harmonization of draft acts derived from the Law on Prevention and Protection from Domestic Violence, Violence against Women and Gender-Based Violence, the prosecutor in the Basic Prosecutor's Office of Prishtina, Ms. Luljeta Bilalli;
  • Formed the technical group for the support of the Commission for the recruitment of new prosecutors;
  • Handled the Report of the Investigative Panel against a prosecutor in the Basic Prosecutor's Office in Prishtina, who as the subject of the investigation requested the expulsion of a member of the KPC;
  • KPC members were informed about the retirement of prosecutors during February and March of this year, for whom proposals will be sent to the Office of the President for release from duty.
