Chairman Hajdaraj hosted the representatives of the Basel Institute for Governance
Prishtinë, 2 February 2024 -The Chairman of the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council, Mr. Ardian Hajdaraj, hosted the representatives of the Basel Institute for Governance, Mr. Eric Stonecipher and the Senior Legal Advisor at UNDP, Mr. Albert Avdiu, as well as Mr. Betim Nimani.
The purpose of this meeting was to discuss the advancement of further cooperation and the coordination of activities that are in function of providing professional support for the drafting of special by-laws of the prosecutorial system, such as the drafting of the Regulation for the Asset Recovery Office to the Office of the Chief State Prosecutor.
On this occasion, Chairman Hajdaraj thanked the experts of the Basel Institute for Governance, Mr. Stonecipher and Mr. Avdiu, for their commitment and support in the past and now, especially in the field of expertise in asset tracing, cooperation with financial institutions and international legal cooperation to achieve the goals of returning property acquired through criminal activity.
Mr. Eric Stonecipher has congratulated Mr. Hajdaraj on his election to the position of the Chairman of the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council, expressing his full readiness to continue and advance the cooperation and coordination of activities planned for 2024.
During today's meeting, the interlocutors agreed on the need to engage the Institute's experts until the officials and the Asset Recovery Office are fully trained to perform their duties and functions, this office, which will be assisted by the Institute of Basel on Governance by expanding the scope of the current cooperation agreement with the Basel Institute on Governance.
