The new Chairperson of the KPC Mr. Ardian Hajdaraj and the new Deputy Chairperson of the KPC, Mrs. Jehona Grantolli are elected

Prishtinë, 30 January 2024 - The Kosovo Prosecutorial Council (KPC), led by the current Chairperson, Mr. Jetish Maloku, has held the 241st Meeting according to the foreseen agenda.

Initially, after the presentation of the candidacies of the members nominated for the position of new Chairperson and Deputy Chairperson, the KPC unanimously elected Mr. Ardian Hajdaraj, a member of the KPC from the ranks of the Basic Prosecutor's Office in Peja, to the position of Chairperson and Mrs. Jehona Grantolli, member of the KPC from the ranks of the Basic Prosecutor's Office in Pristina, in the position of Deputy Chairperson of the Prosecutorial Council of Kosovo.

Consequently, Mr. Hajdaraj and Mrs. Grantolli have been elected for a two-year term, while their election was preceded by the opening of the public call on January 15, 2024 for the nomination of the Chairperson and Deputy Chairperson of the Prosecutorial Council.

After assuming the new position, Mr. Hajdaraj presided over the rest of the meeting, in which case he thanked for the contribution and dedication of the Chairman and Vice-Chairman of the Council until today, Mr. Jetish Maloku and Mr. Veton Shabani, emphasizing that during the mandate they have advanced the comprehensive processes of the activity of the prosecutorial system.  

Then, the members of the Council also voted for the election of new chairmen and members of the Permanent Commissions of the KPC, in which case Mr. Jetish Maloku was elected to the position of Chairman of the Commission for the Administration of Prosecutions and Mr. Veton Shabani in the position of Chairman of the Commission for the Evaluation of Prosecutors' Performance.
