A two-day workshop is held for the drafting of the Strategy for public communication of the prosecutorial system for the years 2024-2026

Prishtinë, 22 November 2023 – The Prosecutorial Council of Kosovo (KPC) and the Office of the Chief State Prosecutor (OCSP), in cooperation and with the support of the OSCE Mission and the EKOJUST Project, have organized a two-day workshop for the drafting of the Public Communication Strategy project in which participated, the Chairman of the KPC, Jetish Maloku, the Prosecutor in the Office of the Chief State Prosecutor, Sevdije Morina, representatives of the American Embassy, the OSCE Mission, the EUKOJUST Project, the Academy of Law, the Association of Kosovo Journalists and the organizations of the civil society.

At the opening of the first session, Chairman Maloku emphasized that one of the main goals of drafting this strategic document is to increase public confidence in the prosecutorial system of Kosovo, because this constitutes a real opportunity for the active participation of citizens, civil society and of the media in the realization of relevant public missions, as well as significantly contributing to the increase of institutional accountability of authorities and officials, who exercise public functions, further developing the public transparency of institutions and generally a decent democratic society.  

Further, representatives of the EUKOJUST project presented the methodological aspects of designing the project strategy according to the best standards and practices, while then the participants together with the members of the working group discussed the approach of internal and external communication mechanisms, the advancement of cooperation with media and civil society, as well as for increasing proactive public communication.

This workshop will continue into the next day, where there will be a discussion on the use of social media and online tools to improve communication with the media and the public and on updating the action plan, which will be developed through an inclusive process of representatives of the prosecutorial system, OSCE and EUKOJUST, the American Embassy, the Association of Journalists of Kosovo and civil society.
