REACTION TO THE MEDIA
Prishtinë, 3 November 2023 - The Kosovo Prosecutorial Council, due to the slanders made in the plenary session of the Assembly of Kosovo, on November 2, 2023, by the chairman of the Commission for Legislation, Mandates, Immunities, Assembly Regulations and the Supervision of the Anti-Corruption Agency, Adnan Rrustemi, on 3 November 2023 made this reaction:

Dear members of the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo,
The Kosovo Prosecutorial Council, through this public reaction, expresses its deep concern at the slanders and insults made by the MP Adnan Rrustemi in the plenary session of the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo, because the same, abusing the trust of the citizens, has defamed and proposed an initiative to the dismissal of the member of the KPC, Professor Agron Beka, misleading the Commission and the deputies, without having any legal argument, but only with the purpose of denigrating his image and with the purpose of realizing political interests for interfering in the prosecutorial system, especially before the important processes that are ongoing.
Dear citizens of the Republic of Kosovo and honorable members of parliament, we inform you that the member of the KPC, Mr. Beka, for his engagement in the KPC, has no objections in the exercise of his duty, no violation and even less procedure. The same with his work and professionalism has helped and is helping the prosecutorial system and the KPC in the performance of constitutional duties and responsibilities. Yesterday's trend by the MP in question, not maintaining professionalism at all, initiating a procedure for dismissal based on some letters from some people already accused by the prosecution, who have nothing to do with the KPC and wanting to impose defamatory and insulting information on the Assembly, proves that this hatred and tendency is to interfere in the independent and constitutional institution - the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council.
The statement of the MP Rrustemi said in the Assembly of Kosovo that "Mr. Beka has misused his office and that he has influenced that through the member of the KPC he is promoted and that there are many procedures against him - criminal and civil charges, all based on evidence”, according to MP Rrustemi, for the purpose of fair and accurate information, the Prosecutorial Council of Kosovo asks Mr. Rrustemi to deposit the claims with evidence to the prosecution body, in order for the truth to emerge.

The tendency to speak on behalf of the KPC and the tendency to apply the attitudes of the abusers of the Faculty of Law - UIBM in Mitrovica are another proof that there is an attempt to take control of the most important constitutional institution, which is the foundation for maintaining legal security in this country.
