The 232nd Meeting of the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council is held

Prishtinë, 27 July 2023 – The Kosovo Prosecutorial Council of (KPC), led by the Chairman Jetish Maloku, held the 232nd Meeting in a row, according to the agenda.

The KPC, in today's meeting, approved the Supplement and Amendment of the Administrative Instruction for Setting the Indicative Norm for State Prosecutors, which was drafted in accordance with the new Law on the State Prosecutor, and approved with proposals the Supplement and Amendment of the Regulation on Appointment of the Chief State Prosecutor and the Chief Prosecutors of the Prosecution Offices of the Republic of Kosovo. After the approval of these supplements and amendments to this regulation, the Prosecutorial Council made a decision to open the competition for the position of the Chief Prosecutor of the Basic Prosecution in Gjakovë, this competition, which will be announced from August 1, 2023.   

The members of the KPC subsequently also approved the Regulation on Allowances and Compensations for State Prosecutors and Employees in the Prosecutorial System, this regulation, which is in accordance with the Law on Salaries in the Public Sector, in which case it was previously discussed and reported by the competent officials for budgetary opportunities and its implementation retroactively, as defined by law.

Today, the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council has approved the filling of the vacant position of a member of the Committee for Budget, Finance and Personnel, appointing the prosecutor from the ranks of the Special Prosecution of the Republic of Kosovo, Ilirjana Çollaku-Tafa, to this task, after the retirement of the member preliminary, to prosecutor Haki Gecaj, from the same prosecutor's office.   

In addition, the KPC made a decision to appoint the Officer Responsible for Access to Public Documents, in which case it appointed the Acting Head of the Office for Public Communication in the KPC Secretariat, Bedri Gashi, to this task.

At the end of the meeting, the Chairman of the KPK, Jetish Maloku, informed the members of the proposal to be sent to the Office of the President for the dismissal of a prosecutor upon his retirement.
