Gjakova, December 23, 2024 – The Basic Prosecution in Gjakova, Serious Crimes Department, has filed an indictment against the defendant Y.A. for the criminal offense of “Driving While Incapable or Intoxicated,” under Article 371, paragraph 4, in conjunction with paragraphs 3 and 1 of the CCRK.
According to the indictment, on August 24, 2024, in “N…” Street in the village of Korishë – Municipality of Prizren, the defendant Y.A. was driving a VW Passat under the influence of alcohol. The defendant operated the vehicle in violation of Traffic Rules, thereby endangering the lives of road users. By failing to adjust the speed of the vehicle to road conditions and his state of incapacity, the defendant struck two minors who were riding a bicycle with the right side of the vehicle. As a result of the impact’s inertia, both minors sustained injuries; one succumbed to injuries sustained in the accident, while the other suffered severe bodily harm.
Through these actions, the defendant committed the criminal offense of “Driving While Incapable or Intoxicated,” under Article 371, paragraph 4, in conjunction with paragraphs 3 and 1 of the CCRK.
The prosecutor of the case, upon filing the indictment, has proposed to the court that the defendant be found guilty and sentenced according to the law for the charged offense.
