Ferizaj, December 20, 2024 – The Basic Prosecution in Ferizaj, Serious Crimes Department, informs the public that it has requested the Basic Court in Ferizaj to impose a 30-day detention on remand for the defendants: N.H., a citizen of Slovakia; L.A., of Albanian-Slovak descent and a citizen of the Slovak Republic; and S.I., a citizen of the Republic of Kosovo. This request pertains to the creation of a laboratory for the production of methamphetamine, in a case coded as the tactical operation “QAFA 2.”
According to the Prosecution, there is reasonable suspicion that, acting as members of a group, the defendants unlawfully provided the necessary tools for synthetic drug production, located and leased a house for the drug manufacturing process, and initiated production at the residence of the defendant S.I. in the village of Sllakoc i Epërm, Gjilan Municipality. They established a laboratory and began producing methamphetamine at that location.
On December 19, 2024, under a court order, a search was conducted at the aforementioned location. During the operation, defendants L.A. and N.H. were arrested at the scene while actively producing the narcotic substance. In the vicinity, defendant S.I. was also apprehended, acting as a lookout. Other suspects, not present at the scene, managed to flee.
These actions constitute the criminal offense of “Unauthorized Production and Processing of Narcotic Drugs, Psychotropic Substances, Analogues, or Tools, Equipment, or Narcotic Materials” under Article 268, Paragraph 1, in conjunction with Article 275, Paragraph 1, Subparagraphs 1.1 and 1.6 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kosovo (CCRK).
