Pristina, December 27, 2024 – The Special Prosecution of the Republic of Kosovo has filed an indictment at the Basic Court in Pristina – Special Department, against the defendants D.C, D.N, M.SH, N.S and S.J.
There is a well-founded suspicion that during the war in Kosovo, specifically in the Gjilan region, as part of a criminal group, in complicity with other unidentified members of this group, armed and dressed in camouflaged uniforms and irregular uniforms of the Serbian police or army, they participated in the murder of eight (8) Albanian civilians, and specifically two of these victims were placed in a pile of wood, where one of them was burned alive, they had beaten, mistreated, tortured, robbed, and expelled the Albanian civilian population, these actions sanctioned according to local laws, customs of war and the International Geneva Conventions and Additional Protocols, therefore, – with this, in complicity they committed the criminal offense War Crimes Against the Civilian Population from article 142 in connection with article 22 of the Criminal Code of the SFRY.
Meanwhile, for the defendants M.Sh and N.S., there is a well-founded suspicion that during the execution of the search warrant, they were found to be in possession of weapons, in violation of the applicable law regarding weapons, whereby they committed the criminal offense of Unauthorized Ownership, Control or Possession of Weapons, under article 366, paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kosovo (CCRK).
