Pristina, November 27, 2024 – At the order of the Special Prosecution of Kosovo, after several months of investigations, an action was carried out by investigators of the Directorate for Investigation of Cybercrimes- Kosovo Police.
During this action, 14 locations in Prishtina, Ferizaj, Kaçanik and Klina were searched and 20 people suspected of having committed the criminal offenses: “Unauthorized computer access” and “Fraud” were arrested.
During this operation, relevant evidence was seized, namely:
- Cash – around 120,000.00 euros;
- Various vehicles – 5 (five);
- Financial assets were frozen in banks in Kosovo, as well as real estate;
- Around 30 computers;
- Around 30 telephones;
- Memory devices;
- Other documents and evidence relevant to the case, etc.
Around 120 police officers (DHKK, DHKEK, DHKOKR, DHTN, DHTNj, DKT, NjSO, NjRSh, and crime technicians -crime scene) participated in the implementation of the operational plan. German officials, prosecutors and police officers also participated in the operation.
By order of the Prosecutor from the Special Prosecution, 10 suspects are sent to 48 hour detention, while 10 other suspects are released in regular procedure.
