Representatives of the prosecutorial system visit the Judicial and Prosecutorial Council in Turkey

Prishtinë, 3 December 2024 – Representatives of the prosecutorial system who are staying for an official visit to Turkish justice institutions, led by the Chairman of the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council, Mr. Ardian Hajdaraj, together with the Acting Chief State Prosecutor, Mr. Besim Kelmendi, visited today the Prosecutorial and Judicial Council of Turkey, where they were received by the Chairman of the Prosecutorial and Judicial Council of Turkey, Mr. Mehmet Akif Ekinci.

During the meeting, the Chairman of the Prosecutorial and Judicial Council of Turkey, Mr. Ekinci, thanked the Kosovo delegation for their visit and presented the main activities of the institutions he represents.

On the other hand, Mr. Hajdaraj thanked Mr. Ekinci for the warm welcome and the valuable information they received from him and on behalf of the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council, expressed his commitment to further deepening cooperation with the prosecutorial and judicial system of Turkey.

While Mr. Besim Kelmendi, emphasized the mutual cooperation of the State Prosecutor’s Office with institutional mechanisms from Turkey to exchange experiences and best practices that affect the rule of law in Kosovo.

The visit of representatives of the prosecutorial system to Turkish justice institutions will continue tomorrow, during which time, after the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Turkey, they will hold a meeting with the General Chief Prosecutor in Ankara.
