Prishtinë, 10 March 2025 – The Chairman of the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council, Mr. Ardian Hajdaraj, received today in a meeting the Head of the EULEX Correctional Unit, Ms. Anu Melkko.

During this meeting, Chairman Hajdaraj shared with Ms. Melkko the priorities and challenges facing the prosecutorial system, and highlighted the achievements made in advancing the rule of law in Kosovo over the past years. He highlighted the ongoing efforts of the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council to improve the efficiency, transparency and strengthening of the prosecutorial system.

On the other hand, Ms. Melkko informed Chairman Hajdaraj that a EULEX project has been approved to strengthen cooperation in the justice chain. This project focuses on increasing the use of alternative punishments and diversity measures, as well as improving the capacities of Kosovo institutions for the rehabilitation and reintegration of offenders. The project is expected to be implemented by June 2025.

Chairman Hajdaraj emphasized the Prosecutorial Council’s willingness to cooperate closely in the implementation of this project, with the aim of improving the capacities of Kosovo institutions and advancing the justice system.
