INDICTMENT FOR ORGANIZING PYRAMID SCHEMES, GAMBLING, MONEY LAUNDERING AS WELL AS POSSESSION OF WEAPONS
Prishtinë, 10 January 2023 – The Special Prosecution Office of the Republic of Kosovo (SPRK) has filed an indictment in the Basic Court in Prishtinë - Special Department, against the defendants S.S., G.K., S.F., A.P., L.P., F.H., F.S., J.Gj., F.K., D.A., B.S., T.P and Rr.M.
The Special Prosecution Office announces that in order to obtain illegal financial benefits, continuously, from the unverified time until March 2021, in complicity they have organized gambling games - online betting, though by article 1 of Law no. 06/L-155 on prohibition of gambling from April 2019, all gambling games in the entire territory of the Republic of Kosovo are prohibited.
With these actions, the defendants in complicity have committed the criminal offense "Organization of pyramid schemes and ongoing illegal gambling" from article 294 paragraph 3 related to paragraph 2 related to article 31 and 77 of CCRK.
The defendants G.K, S.F, knowing that their wealth originates and is acquired from criminal activities as described in point 1, by committing criminal offenses, with the aim of concealing these activities and the true source of the wealth, such money they have deposited into the banking system, in cash, then carried out layering of money - hiding their origin through bank transfers, in order to finally integrate them by converting them into movable and immovable assets.
With these actions, the aforementioned defendants have committed the criminal offense of "Money Laundering" from article 302 of the CCRK in connection to article 56 paragraph 1 subsection 1.1. of Law no. 05/L-096 on Prevention of Money Laundering and Combating the Financing of Terrorism.
Meanwhile, the defendants F.S., S.F and F.D., in the online betting premises, in violation of the Law on weapons no. 05/L-022, each separately, owned and possessed weapons, which were found and confiscated during the police search.
With these actions, the aforementioned defendants, each one separately, has committed the criminal offense "Unauthorized ownership, control or possession of weapons" from article 366 paragraph 1 related to article 113.
