The workshop is held to finalize the draft Regulation for the Establishment of the Advisory Committee for Prosecutorial Ethics and the draft Regulation for Access to Public Documents

Prishtinë, 24 May 2023 – The Kosovo Prosecutorial Council (KPC) has organized a workshop for the presentation, discussion and finalization of the draft Regulation for the Establishment of the Advisory Committee for Prosecutorial Ethics and the draft Regulation for Access to Public Documents. 

The Chairman of the KPC, Jetish Maloku, Acting Chief State Prosecutor, Besim Kelmendi, Deputy Chairman of the KPC, Veton Shabani, Chief Prosecutor of the SPRK, Blerim Isufaj, chief prosecutors of the country's prosecutions, prosecutors of the Chief State Prosecutor's Office, members of the KPC troops, the representative of the US Embassy in Pristina and leaders of the administration of the prosecutorial system of Kosovo are participating in this workshop.    

In the framework of the first session of this workshop, the presentation and discussion of the draft Regulation for the Establishment of the Advisory Committee for Prosecutorial Ethics is foreseen, in which case at the beginning of the workshop it was said that a special emphasis will be placed on the goals, scope , principles and powers of the Advisory Committee for Prosecutorial Ethics, as well as the request for opinions and opinions on own initiative in terms of the best functioning of prosecutorial ethics, this committee, which will influence the strengthening of the advisory support for ethics in the institution of the State Prosecutor.

The focus of the second session will be the review of the draft Regulation on Access to Official Documents, which deals with access to public documents of the prosecutorial system of Kosovo, forms of access, treatment of requests for access, classification and the right to their reuse, while the third session will conclude with the finalization of two drafts of these regulations.
