21 new prosecutors are decreed

Prishtinë, 17 March 2023 – Following the proposal of the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council, the President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, today decreed 21 new prosecutors with an initial mandate of three years.

During the swearing-in ceremony before the President of the country, the new Prosecutors swore that "they will remain loyal to the Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo, the laws in force and will respect the rules of professional ethics”.

At the swearing-in ceremony, President Osmani emphasized that the integrity and professionalism of prosecutors are essential elements for a justice system that guarantees equality and citizen trust.

In this context, President Osmani invited the new prosecutors to commit to an independent, uninfluenced and professional justice system.

After the decreeing ceremony, the new prosecutors were received in a meeting by the Chairman of the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council, Jetish Maloku and the acting Chief State Prosecutor, Besim Kelmendi. The two heads of the prosecutorial system congratulated the new prosecutors for the decree and asked them for commitment and professionalism during the exercise of the mandate of the State Prosecutor. 

The new prosecutors will be systematized in the seven basic prosecutor's offices of the Republic of Kosovo.
