Response by the Special Prosecution of the Republic of Kosovo
Prishtinë, 14 April 2022 – The Special Prosecution of the Republic of Kosovo (SPRK), explains to the Ministry of Justice, but also to the public, that we have not commented on the report but only published the conclusions of the expertise report of the Institute of Forensic Medicine in Lausanne, Switzerland , regarding the Astrit Dehari case.
The Special Prosecution assures the public that in no way has it manipulated the evidence, but only presented the opinion and findings of the experts of the Lausanne Institute of Forensic Medicine in Switzerland. Therefore, the tendentious and malicious claims of the Minister of Justice towards the Special Prosecution Office do not stand and are intended at misinforming and manipulating public opinion.
Therefore, anyone who has any doubts about these conclusions, let it be addressed to Lausanne Institute of Forensic Medicine for additional information.
The Special Prosecution of the Republic of Kosovo assures the citizens that case will be treated seriously, independently and professionally until the full clarification of the Dehari case.
We also assure the public that the Special Prosecution will in no way be influenced by anyone claiming to intervene in this case.
Any initiative to crack down on independent justice institutions is unjust and intended to lower citizens' trust in the State Prosecutor's institution.
