Blerim Isufaj is proposed for appointment to the position of Chief State Prosecutor

Prishtinë, 6 April 2022 – Kosovo Prosecutorial Council (KPC), chaired by Jetish Maloku, held its 212th meeting in a row.

Previously, one of the main items on the agenda was the review of the Report of the Review Committee on the process of appointing the Chief State Prosecutor, which the members of the KPC did not approve with the recommendations partially approved by this Committee.

Consequently, with the disapproval of the findings of the Review Commission, KPC, pursuant to Regulation no. 06/2019 on the appointment of the Chief State Prosecutor and Chief Prosecutors of the Prosecution offices of the Republic of Kosovo, proceeded to the voting process of the most evaluated candidate to propose him for the position of Chief State Prosecutor, in which case, after a secret ballot, it turned out that the Chief Prosecutor of the Special Prosecution, Blerim Isufaj, unanimously received 11 votes of KPC members.

This decision of the Prosecutorial Council for the proposal of Isufaj in this position will be sent for decree to the President of Kosovo and after the decree will officially take over his duty.

KPC, assessed during today's meeting that the whole process for the appointment of the new Chief State Prosecutor, has been objective, transparent, comprehensive and fully based on meritocracy.
