Mitrovica, March, 2022 - The Basic Prosecution of Mitrovica informs the public that today at around 10:30 hrs. at the police shooting range in the village of Cërnushë of Mitrovica, a police officer with the initials B.T. 44 years old, while he was shooting at the range as part of a regular training, his official weapon accidentally fired and as a result he has injured himself and has been immediately transported to the Regional Hospital in Mitrovica where the medical staff ascertained his death.
The custodial prosecutor of the Serious Crimes Department of the Basic Prosecution in Mitrovica came to the scene, and according to the first information, the case happened accidentally.
The dead body of the deceased by order of the prosecutor was sent for autopsy to the Institute of Forensic Medicine in Pristina.
