Prosecutor Jetish Maloku is elected Chairman of the KPC, while his Deputy the Prosecutor Veton Shabani

Prishtina, 18 January 2021 - The Kosovo Prosecutorial Council (KPC) has held its 193rd meeting in a row. This meeting, based on the Regulation on the election of the Chairperson and Deputy Chairperson of the KPC, was chaired by the Chief State Prosecutor, Aleksandër Lumezi, who is also an ex-officio member of the Council.

At the beginning of the meeting, which had on its agenda the election of the Chairperson and Deputy Chairperson of the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council, Chief Prosecutor Lumezi, announced the nominations submitted for the above positions. He said that for the position of Chairperson only the KPC member from the ranks of the Basic Prosecution of Gjilan, Jetish Maloku has submitted the nomination, while for the position of Deputy Chairperson only the member of KPC from the ranks of the Basic Prosecution of Ferizaj, Veton Shabani.

Further, the candidates nominated for the position of Chairperson and Deputy Chairperson presented their visions for the leadership of the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council, in which case the two nominees presented the actions they will take during the leadership of the KPC.

Following the meeting, the voting process took place for the Chairperson of the KPC, where with 10 votes in favor and 1 against, the prosecutor Jetish Maloku was elected, while with 11 votes in favor and none against, the Deputy Chairperson Veton Shabani was elected.
