Chief State Prosecutor Aleksandër Lumezi received the new Ambassador of Switzerland, Thomas Kolly

Prishtina, September 30, 2020 - The Chief State Prosecutor, Aleksandër Lumezi, received in a briefing the new Ambassador of Switzerland to Kosovo, Thomas Kolly.

Initially, Chief Prosecutor Lumezi welcomed Ambassador Kolly to the new diplomatic mission, and informed him about the functioning, work, achievements and challenges of the prosecutorial system of the Republic of Kosovo.

An important part of the discussions in this meeting was the continuation of the partnership in joint projects between the State Prosecutor and the Swiss Embassy in Kosovo, with special emphasis on the Anti-Corruption in Kosovo known as SAEK-III, as well as the advancement of inter-institutional cooperation in the field of international legal cooperation.

In this context, the excellent cooperation that the State Prosecutor has had and continues to have with the Swiss institutes, especially in performing various expertise, has been appreciated.

Both sides also highly appreciated the signing of the Memorandum of Cooperation between the Office of the Chief State Prosecutor and the Basel Institute, which aims to improve the capacity for confiscation and return of assets acquired through criminal offenses, which will serve the institution of the State Prosecutor in strengthening the fight against corruption and organized crime.

Meanwhile, Ambassador Kolly, has expressed his support and that of the country he represents to assist the institution of the State Prosecutor in various fields.

At the end of the meeting, the Chief State Prosecutor, Aleksandër Lumezi, thanked the new Ambassador of Switzerland, Thomas Kolly, for the visit and the interest shown for the prosecutorial system, in which case he appreciated the continuous support and encouragement of the Swiss state given for the Republic of Kosovo and the justice system.
