The 184th meeting of the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council is held

Prishtina, 31 August 2020 - Under the measures of protection from pandemic and through telecommunication, the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council (KPC), led by its chairman, Bahri Hyseni, has held its 184th meeting in a row.

At the beginning of this meeting, a minute of silence was held on the occasion of the death of the former Chief Prosecutor of the Basic Prosecution of Gjakova, Ali Selimaj and the Prosecutor of the Basic Prosecution of Gjilan, Esat Ademi.

At the beginning of this meeting, the oath before the members of KPC was given by the newest member, Agron Beka who was elected by the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo as a member of the Council from the ranks of law faculties.

The 184th meeting continued with the review and approval of the Report "Geography of Crime 2013-2019", a report which was presented by KPC member Arben Ismajli.

Also, today the Council has reviewed and approved the Report of the Committee on Budget, Finance and Personnel, a report which was presented by the chairwoman of this committee, Deshire Jusaj. Regarding this topic, Chairman Hyseni said that the budget of the Kosovo prosecutorial system has been reduced despite many requests and justifications not to cut it.                                             

Whereas, the Council has appointed as Acting Chief Prosecutor of the Basic Prosecution of Gjakova, until the election of the new Chief Prosecutor, the Deputy Chief Prosecutor of this Prosecution, Ali Uka.

During this meeting, the Council has taken a decision on internal announcements for the promotion of 3 prosecutors in the Appellate Prosecution, and has partially approved the Report of the Commission for performance evaluation of 7 prosecutors, where for 2 of these prosecutors has decided to re-evaluate by the committee.
